3D printing making a life and death difference.

I remember in my training years visiting a TAFE institute of manufacturing to see the specialist tools being used and tested.

Way back then they where showcasing medical prints to allow surgeons to practice cranial surgery. They would also print the implant for use in a lost wax cast process.

Its great to see the advances and changes in price make these applications much more accessible and save more lives.

Prusa3D by Josef Prusa on Instagram: “The staff of specialzed @ikempraha hospital in Prague, Czech republic, uses Original Prusa printers to print models of organs before the operation begins. This helps to prevent complications during and even before the procedure – the ability to physically touch the organ in form of a model has proven to be very helpful. And the donor takes the model of their kidney home as a gift. #3dprinting #medical #donor #operation #ikem #prusa #originalprusa #prusai3mk3 #prusai3mk3s #3dprinted #3dprinter #kidney #heart #3d #practical”
