Desiccant Container – Large – Top Opening

Description

This is the second version of this box. I changed this version to open at the top to allow it to be filled more than 50%.

This version will hold a around 450g of desiccant.

This is the description from the first version:

This is modelled after a dehumidifier that I bought that was supposed to regenerate in six to twelve hours when plugged into power. I quickly found that it wasn’t properly regenerating in a week. So I designed my own box to hold the same amount of beads and planned to regenerate them in the oven.

This version is designed to open along the long axis the same as the purchased part, when I disassembled it.

I eventually realized that this limited the amount of beads it could hold by half (of course), so I redesigned it in my next version.

Intended for >3mm diameter desiccant beads. I use the “Blue Indicating Silica Gel” from here.
