Desiccant Funnel for Spool Container

Description

A funnel for more easy filling the Desiccant Containers for filament spools.  Intended for >3mm diameter desiccant beads. I use the “Blue Indicating Silica Gel” from here.

I have found in the past that I want to fill the spool desiccant containers in a tray so that any beads that fall through the core don’t get lost on my desk or floor. I don’t normally have anything suitable in my office so I designed this funnel one afternoon when cleaning up my printer.

It is designed to fit neatly over the top of the container while the center is covered to prevent beads getting in there. The also makes filling extremely easy and quick.

I found a neat little trick is the supports for the core cover also act like a rake when the funnel is twisted ensuring that no beads are going to fall out when the funnel is removed. Or showing you that there is to much. If the rakes are pushing beads around there are to many. In which case the container and funnel can be picked up together and poured back into the source container.
